Emily Clark
Director, Operations and Strategic Initiatives
Emily’s story with Camp Scugog began when she arrived at just one month old, and she has been part of the camp family ever since. Like many campers who grow into staff and leaders, Emily’s summers at Camp Scugog and Camp Oconto fostered her passion for the outdoors and her love of leadership. She completed the Leadership Program at Camp Scugog and went on to serve as a counsellor, Kayak Director, and Leadership Director over eight summers.
Â
Those early experiences gave Emily a deep understanding of camp life from every angle, as a camper, a staff member, and now a leader. Today she brings that insight to her role guiding program operations, mentoring and leading staff, and helping shape new initiatives including Camp Scugog’s growing social enterprises. She also shares her well-honed expertise in her full-time role with Mejuri, where she manages their Learning and Development programs.
Â
What excites Emily most is watching the same journey she once took unfold for others: seeing tentative campers grow in confidence, become Leaders-in-Training, step into staff roles, and carry the lessons of Camp into their lives and careers beyond the lakefront.
Emily holds a BA from the University of Guelph and a certificate in Fundraising and Volunteer Management from Humber College. She and her husband are raising two young children who already share her love of the outdoors. She is especially proud to help make camp possible for other mothers and families through Camp Scugog’s Mom’s Week, ensuring the joy, belonging, and growth she has experienced continues for generations to come.
