DeeAnn Sagar

DeeAnn grew up in Texas, where camping is a way of life. She attended camps for many years in North Central Texas and the beautiful Hill Country. She moved to Toronto to do graduate work at the University of Toronto, in English Literature and Medieval Studies, where she also taught for a few years. She is a certified Primary/Junior teacher and a licensed paralegal.

DeeAnn comes to Camp Scugog as Senior Development Manager after a long and successful career leading philanthropy programs in both the arts and humanitarian relief. She often says that fundraising is her superpower.

As a former teacher, the well-being of children is very important to DeeAnn. Until 2019, she spent many years in youth and children’s ministry in the United Church, most recently at Lawrence Park Community Church, where she is a member. She also coordinated Children at Conference for several years.

Camp Scugog is very close to the heart of Lawrence Park. She started bringing her youth groups up for Spring Cleaning in 2012, and helped with collection of toys, clothing and other items for the campers. She is honoured to be supporting the ministry of the camp in any way

she can.
