Youth Leadership Groups
Youth Leadership Groups can develop their skills through fun and engaging programs tailored to their needs. Whether part of a sports team, Scouts or Guides, or a theatre group, Camp Scugog is the perfect place to bring out the most sought after team qualities. Participants will build confidence, communication, and teamwork skills through activities like Low Ropes, High Ropes, team challenges, and personal growth workshops. Our customizable programs inspire leadership, foster collaboration, and leave young leaders empowered to make a difference in their communities.
Every program is fully customizable with a large selection of activities for you and your team to choose from.
For your Grade 9 Welcome Retreat, we recommend:
High Ropes
Participants can traverse the obstacles suspended in the air with more than one teammate at a time, or help to belay their teammates and communicate with them from below. These courses challenge participants to develop trust within themselves and their teammates.
Low Ropes
A series of ground based obstacles designed to challenge teams and individuals to work together. Exercises focus on building trust, improving participants’ ability to communicate, stimulating creative problem solving, collaborating even with constraints, and developing and executing a plan with many moving parts.
Large Group Games
Active competition based games that students complete in teams. Activities include field sports and camp-wide challenges that encourage communication, sportsmanship, teamwork, and cooperation.
Personal Development Workshops
These guided workshops help students get to know one another and become comfortable working together as a team. Most importantly, these workshops equip students with leadership skills and activities they can bring back to their school.
